Stealthily escape your unjust imprisonment so you can spread the joy of laughter to everyone! So what if it unsettles people, and it makes them uncomfortable, and you can't help it, and the doctor said it was a condition, and that you're not really a hyena, and you're just hallucinating everything.


HOW TO PLAY

  • WASD - Move
  • ESC - Pause
  • Spacebar - Laugh

Your goal is to navigate to the end of each room by locating the green checkpoint while avoiding being spotted by the guards.

As you search for the exit, your desire to laugh will continually grow (indicated by the coloured meter to the right of the screen). If this meter is maxed out, you will burst out laughing - rendering you unable to move and alerting every guard in the room!

You can avoid bursting out laughing by manually laughing - which will deplete the meter. The catch? Manually laughing will alert every guard in a radius (defined by the spotlight around you) - and waiting longer to laugh will increase this radius. Try to strategically laugh to yourself in an area where a guard won't hear you!

Be careful not to make yourself laugh too much! Your remaining laughs are indicated by the asterisks beneath the laugh meter. These gradually replenish over time.

CREDITS

This game was created over a 48-hour period for Global Game Jam Edmonton 2024! The end result turned out amazing, and it was all thanks to the hard work put in by everyone on the team. Congrats!
